At the beginning of the year I traded in my E61 530d M-Sport for my current 550i M-Sport (both purchased in Germany). It came with loads of factory options (see my profile) and I had the dealer transfer the mods over from my E61 to the 550. Since then I've added OEM M5 Mirrors, OEM M5 Trunk Finisher, OEM M5 Trunk Spoiler and 35% rear tints. I would like to lower the M-Sport suspension a little, but with it being an inner city car that's just going to be a nightmare, so it'll stay as it is for now. I am however considering the Supersprint exhaust; it seems to be a good compromise between the OEM and rumbling RPI exhaust. Maybe a mod for a little later in the summer...

I recently took it on a 4500km tour, most of which was in Germany... which means derestricted Autobahn Its was an awesome feeling having a car that pulls incredibly hard from any speed all the way up to 155mph/260kph, without loosing power, even when its red-lining. It was also a real kick when flooring it at 100mph/160kph and leaving the cars behind me standing Its just a great all round engine; smooth and relaxing around the city, and a total blast on the open road and autobahn -- love it!

I have given up waiting for good weather here in Copenhagen to take pictures, so just took some in the garage. Hope they're still ok. Let me know what you think...

Before Modding
(This is my old 520d, but with the exception of the exhaust, my 550i looked the same when I bought it)

Looks fantastic. In Europe, a 550 is a real ballermobile --very rare and super expensive. And yes it makes for a perfect daily driver with strong performance, decent fuel economy, plenty of smoothness and a very flat power curve useable at any rpm. Oh, and a great engine noise and exhaust note.

Thanks!
The 128s looked great on your E60 too

The rear windows are tinted 35%, but its not obvious in the photos. I am planning on doing 45% on the driver and front passenger window, but need to be a little careful here tinting the fronts

As for the grills, its the one mod I cannot make up my mind about. I like the contrast of the E60 grills, so I like black grills on all lighter colours, but on black E60s I'm not totally convinced its for me. I like the OEM look, because IMHO it helps retain that "executive car" feel, which is why most of my mods are OEM. But point taken, chrome is wrong and I'm probably reading too much into the whole black grills thing

You are right, these are very rare over here, even in Germany. It still gets a reaction every time I mention I have the V8, which is why I am keeping it debadged to avoid too much attention.
