Why does there seem to be so much variation in sport package ride height with bigger wheels/tires? FANTASTIC 5's car didn't look bad not lowered, but EuroCar fan -- it looks like you could have gone off road in that thing!

It seems like it may have to do alot with the picture angle and lighting. Other than that...maybe it's that the tire brands have slightly different shapes for the same size tire. These pictures are exactly what I needed to see. I agree that to make a good set of 20's (or 19's for that matter) look right the car needs to be lowered. Even if it is only slightly lowered...it's one of those things "non car" people may not be able to put their finger on, it just looks better. It can look OK with a non-lowered sport suspension car. But I guess I better go ahead and lower mine.

I did go off-roading actually!

Well, I think the main difference is that Fantastic5's car has the M Tech kit which gives the impression of a more lowered stance compared to my car. Here are a few pictures of my car after the M Tech kit was put on and before lowering with coilovers:

You're right....that does look lower with the M Tech kit. That kit, spoiler and wheels are perfect for a black car.
