Hi Guys,

just wanted to know if it is worth removing my six cd and retrofit ipod.

If yes does it accept my 30 gb video ipod?

Of course i know it will only support songs not video.

Yes, if you don't mind paying the cost for the Ipod option.

Yes it will support your 30gb model.

The CD changer does not support MP3, so for music the Ipod is a much better option.

Absolutely yes!
will cost you a few hundred bucks though
but it's worth it, especially now that the largest ipod on the market can carry 160 GB, that's more than my entire music collection

it's a great option. but i read somewhere that the retrofit can only display 500 songs max.... that's why i might get aux option instead

Does anyone know *for sure* that the 160GB iPod classic will work with the retrofit for non-LCI cars? The 'net is full of conflicting info on this, and I haven't yet bothered to track down a classic owner.

I have a 60gb classic iPod (purchased Oct 2005) running off the iPod interface in my pre-LCI car, and it works fine. The only downside I have is that the iPod interface has a limit to the number of songs/artists/albums that will show up on the I-Drive screen, so I sometimes cannot reach the artists or albums that sit at the bottom end of the alphabet.

The "Ipod Classic" just was introduced last month and comes in 80 and 160 GB models. I think is similar to the last version of video ipod but can't be sure. The Ipod Classic has a metal case.

I have the ipod interface in my 07 550 and it works fine but the title limitation is only corrected by creating smaller playlists on less than 500 titles each. Its like you have to make separate files of your songs to be able to navigate through them.

A suggestion pls : I don't have iPod (because it is useless, when you have a cellular phone that has 10x functions), but I'm planning to buy it to listen mp3, connecting it to the car .

Which is the cheapest and the smallest iPod could I use for the car ?
I don't need 80 gb or 160: 2 or 4 gb would be perfect .

Can I use the Ipod Shuffle 1 gb ?

I would like to have the LCI with the USB port

Thank you!
