Not sure about the standard 530i wheels which are probably country specific.

On a serious note, I don't see why it would be illegal. The only issue you would come across is your tire rubbing the fender if the car bottoms-out, but perhaps someone else with these can give better feedback. As long as you have lugs that are long enough to hold the wheel, you should be fine.

[/quote]From what I can tell, you would need to go to for at least a 25mm spacer per rear wheel to have any chance of rubbing when bottoming out.
What a difference
Its just what the rear end needs as the 245's look a tad narrow on the back of the sport IMHO. Which is the reason I went for the 275's. Had I known about spacers I would probably have stuck with the 135's as I like the wheels a lot. The 3 series coupe gets 255's on the same style of wheel, which I find odd!

Just a heads-up
Take them off and lubricate them every once in a while I had H&R spacers on both my 525 and 545 (before going to different wheels) and in both cases...rust started to build up on the hub and/or behind the spacer and they became quite difficult to get off. With the 525 they had to be broken to be removed.

Thanks for the advice guys.
There is no thread where the bolts go through the spacers so I would not expect the bolts to seize.
l can however understand the possibility of rust forming between the rim & the spacer.
Can anyone suggest a good product to use to prevent this?
