These seem to be the two tires reccommended for ultimate performance. Any feedback on real experiences with either would be helpful. I'm trying to decide which ones to try on my 2007 530XI and would appreciate any feedback. I'm leaning towards the Goodyears. l

In a recent comparison that I saw on the "Speed" channel ranked them as so:

#1 Goodyear
#2 Continental
#3 Michelin
#4 Perelli

I personally have the Continental ContiSport 2 on my Boxster and really like them.

I will dig up the show that had them.

Heh, both of these were sold out for months across the country when I bought tires last year. My Bridgestones are great and they aren't wearing as fast as I expected.

I have the Goodyear Eagle F1's, they are astonishingly good tires. You absolutely won't go wrong with either the Eagles or the PS2. FWIW the Eagles are rated better on TireRack and won the last Car and Driver comparison test (9 tires were rated, the PS2 was 4th IIRC) but there has been a lot of very good feedback on here for the PS2s. If it were me I'd probably see which one was the better deal but keep us posted either way.

Maybe I missed it, but you didn't say what size. That would have a bit of effect on my choice, as in the smaller sizes it's not quite as crucial. I just put some 20's on my car, and used the PS2, and am amazed. Yes, they were expensive. Yes, the UTQG is only 220. I don't care. They ride and drive fantastic for a really big setup like this. I can't think of any other reason NOT to buy the PS2, except for $$$$.
Just my .02.

Not to disagree with you, but the same likely applies to the Eagle F1s (and they're pretty close in price). Here's the Car and Driver page for the Goodyears. The PS2's were also rated highly, they were 4th in this test. http://www.caranddriver.com/features/10252...ead-page13.html

I have Michelin PS2's and absolutely love the ride compared to stock Dunlop RF. Switching my ride over was like liberating her in terms of riding dynamics and responsiveness - RF were well, flat..

Seems you can't go wrong with PS2's or the Goodyears. Aside from the C&D report's, here's a Tirerack report with performance data in dry/wet conditions (real world and track).

I haven't looked at that article in awhile, but I believe the goodyears were really helped by their performance in the wet. If dry performance is more of a concern, then I'd go with the PS2s. I've also read that the goodyears have a comparatively softer side wall which will take away from turn-in response.
