If you're concerned about tire wear, those conti sport contacts 2s should last a good deal longer.
Those were the Conti sport and they averaged 14K at best. I can't remember if they were contact 2's and they mey not have been but they looked similar. I did push that V8 to the limit every chance I got so it could be my driving style.

In a new tyre test (size 235/35 19") done by AutoBild magazine the GoodYear F1 was the best.

The other highly recommended tyre was the new Continental SportContact3 (note the number).

Michelin has done good in a lot of tests on dry surfice, but all of them say that the PS2 is really
not good at all in wet conditions!

Note that these test im refering to have all been done with real summer tyres, not all season ones.

Are the Continental SportContact 3's available yet? I haven't seen them and I was online last night doing some reading on tire tests.

Mine are OEM set up for 19inch rims - 245/35/r19 front 275/30/r19 rear.

Don't know about wear yet I'm afraid, but as the conti's spin less than the goodyears I'm guessing they will wear better.

Thanks for the link! Is this specific to a country? I've been on the Continental USA web sight and they do not have the ContiSport 3's.

I've recently replaced my RFT's for Michelin PS2's and they're great! Great grip (much better then RFT), pretty silent and pretty good on wet surface (I got them siped for extra grip in this conditions). Go for the PS2's, you won't regret it!

all those mentioned there were beaten last yr by Korean Hankook Evo 1

and they are good over 300km/h.

The question is what size, what budget, aquaplanning, or dry driving matters

I'm going with 245/40 18's because the dealer says this is the largest wheel that works for the XI. Budget isn't a concern, but living in CT. where the weather changes by the hour, I will want tires with good grip in the rain. I noticed in one test that the Hankook finished poorly in wet conditions.
