thats just for diesels we want for NA engines, there has been quite a few options for the turbo diesels and the twin turbo engines but nothing really for the NA engines. The issue with the remap from trinity is that everytime the dealer does an update on your car you have to tear your ecu out again and ship it to trinity for remap again.

That does sound like a hassle.

While I'm a big supporter of "you get what you pay for", it is more than just conceivable that certain shops - and I'm not saying Trinity is one of them - can overcharge silly for a service, that costs them nearly nothing. I've actually talked to a guy, who was considering putting some money behind a tuning shop in So Fla, and one of the things he was really excited about was the fact that he would be able to perform ECU tunes on a certain luxury car (I don't think I should name it, but its NOT BMW, or anything made by BMW). Reason? He said his cost on it was something like 30-40 dollars + the work, whereas he would charge his customers well over a grand for it. Now, labor costs could be pretty significant, but common - no way he's racking up more than 20 hours per tune - TOPS! So don't discount anything totally, just because it is inexpensive.

That said, I'd be suspicious about the product in question in this thread. Although, at this price point, I'm surprised no one has tried it yet...

Well, depends on what he's doing. I've paid $650 for a live tune. But would never ever pay that much for a canned tune, unless I'm buy the tool/accessport with it too. Even then I feel it is too high.

Stuff like this, even if it works, is sketch. I wouldn't risk anything serious for a few extra ponies. Even if the output is higher, it still isn't high enough to make putting a device like this in my car worthwhile.

I just ordered a direct flash unit for the N62B48 engine from ESS Tuning. I'll be posting a review of its performance and ease of use as soon as I receive it.
