You have to remember that it doesn't take much to make the 535i a rocket, but a 530i needs more work/money to really get it going. I would go for looks first in that situation.

personally, if I had a 530i i would either supercharge or turbocharge the car instead of a bodykit.
Regardless of what vehicle I had, I would always try to make power over looks. but that's just me

I did a little of both.

it's up to you, if you don't plan on running against other cars then appearance.

Hey if I had a choice to spend $2500-$3000 on an oem mtech kit (painted and installed), I would go with the vf engineering SC.
but then again there aren't many power options you can go with on a 530. IT's really up to the OP and his personal preference.

I'm in your exact situation, except I'm two years older. I figure with the 530i, significant performance gains are difficult and hella expensive. So I think I'm gonna eventually get the Umnitza front and then wheels, possibly used cause of the price. Just don't blow everything you have. The way I see it, we're only teenagers. Wait til we're a little older and making bank, then go buy an M5 or something and then go all out.

very smart. According to the chinese man who read my hands in china town, i will be "berry berry sussesful" "make lots of money" he didnt mention anything about an m5 :/
