Yeah, I actually have a non-OEM battery in there that I surprisingly have never noticed. I bought the car two years ago, and I guess the previous owner had already replaced the battery with this one. I'll definitely start my research on a new battery.

Thanks for the info Antti. I'll give it a go later this evening. If I remember correctly, when I was trying to access the satellite modules, I was getting the error about not being able to communicate. I thought that maybe it's because I am currently experiencing the stupid TCU issue

Bah, no go.

Even when I clear all errors through Functional job, it still doesn't work. When I clear it, is the errors on the cluster suppose to go away? Because it doesn't

Also, I noticed that I don't have "power module" under Body. Kind of confused here

Here's my guess about what's going on...

I think that because of a bad battery, the conneection to the one (or more than one) module has been cut. The result:
- error in the idrive
- no possibility to read and clear the error through INPA

Last time when I got the "Passenger restraint system error" and when I tried to clear the error memory, the connection to the "Satellite B-pillar module" kept cutting along the process, and I wasn't able to clear the error code. Then I put the trickle charger on overnight and next morning after startoff the error was gone by itself.

Antti, if it's not too much trouble, can you take a look at which version of INPA you have?

I just looked at mine this morning, and mine is v5.0.2.

Reason I ask is because I don't understand why I don't have Power Module in the list under Body. (Meaning I wouldn't be able to register battery)

Mine seems to be 5.00, and I can't find the Power Module either.
I know the registering can be done with the DIS though.

I PM'ed him earlier.

That thread has no relevant steps to get to "power module" unfortunately.

Just a taking a shot in the dark and I don't know if it applies or helps. I saw a thread regarding the BAV tool showing the battery registration being under the Engine module and commands section.

You guys mentioned the "Body module" which the BAV tool has on their list so I figure there might be some common correlation there:
