I did the front wheels lighter and darker. I think I like a bit lighter for my car (Alpine White), the color he did originally looks good on his

Love it! I was originally going to paint my stock wheels dark grey or gloss black, but decided on aftermarket rims. I may still paint my stock wheels and use them as a winter setup (not much snow here, but a fair amount of salt).

prep work is the key but it is doable. I've done lots of times in the past and did it to my current Miro 01. It does last and if you do good enough, you cannot tell it's spray painted. Some people prefer powder coating but to me, I rather sell my old set plus the cost of powder coat and buy new ones.

I'm thinking it looks too much like brake dust ... don't wash your wheels for a few weeks and they'll look just like that! I like the hyper-silver look myself. That adds some "depth" to the original and other styled wheels and powder coat makes the finish more durable.
