I think that "watching" is better than "listening". I have no PDC and this rear view camera is much better than PDC. I tried the latest Land Rover with rear view camera, it was cool and great ....

So, after the installation of the ACM module and rear view camera, do you need to have the latest software (CIP) to make the camera and iDrive to work with each other ?

Can I just purchase the rear view camera only, not both the front and rear camera ?

Thanks,

Nope, no coding required....
I only installed the rear view camera and have no need for a front camera.

What was the root cause of your problem after you installed the rear view camera and how did BMW engineers resolve the problem with you ?

Thanks,

I just found the installation instruction of ACM from this forum. In page 25, it states that coding is needed if car is without Aux-Connection. For cars with Aux-Connection, no coding is needed. Does your car has Aux-Connection already installed ?

Also, how did you remove the driver side front and rear door sills in order to route the retrofit cable from trunk to driver side foot well ??

Thanks,

Hi Midget,

congrats from my heart for this! I?m sorry, I couldn?t help you out in the other community. But what I see - you fix all problems? That?s cool! Makes me want this too.

Maybe you could help ME now youre the expert - could you find out, if it will be possible to retrofit night vision using the acm module at navi business? For Navi pro there?s a retrofit then without acm of course.

Can?t believe it - you can watch your CIP - ?h - Progman at the acm...mega cool.

If it goes for night vision, I get me an acm too with cams and tv settop box.

Hi Harry,

What an honour that you call me the expert

I am not sure about retrofitting night vision I do know for a fact that you can hook up to 4 Camera's to the ACM module which you can select using I-drive even while driving. The camera's simply connect to a video+ and a video- signal on the ACM module. My rear view camera came with a small converter to change from 12v to the cameras own 6.5v.

Controlling which video input is shown on the monitor is all done via the ACM module (the ACM module changes the monitor to camera when I engare reverse automatically).

Do you know the partno# of the night vision camera ? That would really be a cool add-on.
