I bit the bullet and ordered a genuine BMW one from www.fcpeuro.com since they offer lifetime warranty on everything they sell. Installed it the other day and worked instantly.

Glad you finally got it fixed. Now you know something's you have to go OE/OEM.

I had to try it! I was shocked at the weight difference between the two. Lesson learned.
