Have you thought about using Raspberry Pi instead of ATmega-based board? It has a built in GPU with composite and HDMI output. There's a thread on connecting MCP2515 to Raspberry Pi on their forum. I've ordered RasPi, CAN module with MCP2515 & transceiver and BTM-511 bluetooth module. I want my RasPi to also control the playback of my phone through AVRCP). Depending on quality of DACs on BTM, I may also do A2DP either straight, or through I2S with RasPi.

@NoQuarter: you are using the nightvision for this. do you think its possible to emulate a TV Tuner for this?
would be nice for E90 Driver, because we have no nightvision or rear cam, as option.

posted it already at e90post, but maybe ill get here more answers =)
@NoQuarter: i've got an arduino uno and Can BUS Shield (sparkfun).
with this sketch: CAN-BUS ECU Reader demo sketch v4 - For use with Arduino 1.0
i tried changing the Canbus.h file:
#define ENGINE_COOLANT_TEMP 0x05
to
#define ENGINE_COOLANT_TEMP 0x5C
so it should show the Oil temp ... lazy version just dont wanted to change other files too.
but that doesnt work, does anybody know why?
