it looks like the lights are wired so that the inner bulbs are on with the rods too. this is probably done to avoid errors, and avoid using resistors.
do the rods and bulbs get brighter together when the brakes are applied?

Good question, either way they look like a great alternative to LCI lights, good price and good looks too - I'm down Thanks Redeye
