No, we have an autologic (BMW equivalent) in house we perform programming with.

An independent may be the best solution for programming, it definitely not worth $400 to program a feature that simply registers a date/time stamp.

Just trying to see where you stand...first you say it's a must to have a new batt programmed and now you don't. I still can't believe that a car so technologically advanced as the e60 cannot manage to properly charge its battery.

It's absolutely necessary for registration to be performed when a battery is replaced.

However, it's not necessary to be charged $400 for the programming & labor. Unless there was some troubleshooting labor involved that hasn't been disclosed, this labor quote is ridiculously high.

my quote for the battery and labor was 460ish. complete bullshit. i will buy the god damn battery, drop it in, connect the damn cables, and have them register it. registering the battery shouldnt be more than 50 dollars.
