I had 19" M166 on a non-sport and I hated the look. The wheel gap was so profound that I was close to putting a brown bag over my head while driving. If you get 19's, make sure you get new springs and shocks at the same time.
So im still confused, the tire cost are considurble higher on 19" to.

19inch 121s for the summer. 18inch 124s for the winter. M-Tech package and NOT lowered and NOT with a sport package. When I put the 121s on, most of my friends thought I lowered the car because they fill the wheel well very nicely! Click on the link below my signature for lots of pis. GL!

My Ride: 2006 Audi A8 4.2TDI
Previous rides:
2005 E61 530d, 20" Breyton reps, Eibach springs, M5 bumper/mirrors/MFSW
2000 Audi S6 Avant, 18" OZ, RS6 exhaust etc
1998 Audi A8 4,2Q, 19" RS4 wheels, Remus exhaust KW coilovers etc
1986 Audi 100CC, funky fresh steel rims w plastic covers, rubber lip on boot.....
1987 BMW 320i, 15" alloys + rubber lip on boot :)
1982 Opel Ascona 1,6DL, tinted windows and a big-ass subwoofer :P
Just do it I drive mine 45000kms/year, slammed ~30mm with Eibachs and rolling on 20s during summer. As long as you drive on decent roads I'd say you'll have more than enough comfort left on 19", even if you go on and lower it. I don't know where you are located but if it's anywhere near V?ster?s, or southern Dalarna, you can test my setup before you pull the trigger if you like.

Stilling, if you're worrying about the ride comfort when lowered, I have the answer for you: KW Street Comfort coilover set.
Here's my thread about my experiences: KW Street Comfort. My car was a non-sport before.
And here are pictures with my 19" summer setup before lowering . I think it looked.... well, not as good as now .

Hilden: I live in Malm?, thats alittele far from you isn?t it ?
The lowering i also a economical issue, we have 3 other cars that neds wheels, suspension track setup ect. so there is a budget on every car, my bank account issent endless, so the plan for the E60 for 09 was wheels, suspension the end of 09 maybe 2010, so i was going for as big as possible wheels for now that wount get me anoid becourse of the gab to the fender. In my opninon and thatks for teh evidence in your picture all of you it depends on the wheel design if its a go or no go in 19" in my opinion atleest. Waco?s 6 series 19" wheels along with Kieth84, is it m3 style and the M5 style wheels to are okay in 19" without lowering, when thay get very deep dish i think you will need to lower it and i?m looking at M5 wheels so im almost convinced about the 19" and that looks so much better when you lower it.
I just cant drive a 5 series off road.

Surely this is a big issue all together. I've been thinking along the upgrading route for ages now, but still unsure...I could ruin it. I have 18"s with the runflats on my '03 545 E60, and was considering a Bilstein coilover kit. BUT, the RFT sidewalls are stiffer, so what about going to 19"s? More flex in the wall+stiffer shocks might equal crappy, bouncy ride. I need info from someone who has actually done the package, with handling info. I just feel it would be a real shame to completely ruin a good car, AND waste a shedload of cash. Any takers?

My Ride: '04 530d Executive, all options except sunroof and comfort seats
ECU remapped by ZipTuning to 260+bhp.
I've got 19" 166's (repli's), but haven't lowered the car.
Almost everybody thinks it looks good this way, only a couple of people say i should drop it (but i won't, it's a pain getting over speedbumps now, let alone when i drop it).
