I would like to change my white OEM side markers to a set that is smoked, but I don't want error messages, fast blinking, strobing at startup and things like that.
Since the LED version does things like that, I think I'll go for "regular" ones, but I can't find any.
Does someone know if something like this is available, and where?

I used this on my porsche:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DARK-SMOK...ht_9485wt_1022

easy enough to apply to standard lights and can be removed.. A bit of heat (hair drier) should see it wrap around your side markers no worries.
I plan to try it out on my headlights and tail lights of my E60 just for laughs.
I was going to get LED sidemarkers - do they cause errors/fast flashing?

Been running smoked Bimmian LEDs for a few years now. Never any errors or strobing, etc.

You're probably right.
That could be one way of doing it, but I'm afraid it will look a bit "cheap".
That could be a solution, thanks!
I was reading in this sales thread, and got the impression that all LED side markers have some kind of issue.
If that ain't the case, I'll easy reconsider LED markers.

I just got my bimmian side markers installed, and for the record, they DO strobe when ignition is turned.
The only reason i shelled out the $100 for the bimmian ones and not $50 ebay specials was in the hope there was no strobing, but oh well..
As far as strobing - So do my led plate lights, my led reflectors etc lol.. my car looks like a police car lighting up at night
