Good question, I do not have the HUD but maybe Roleez does.
Good Idea, next mod needs to be the M5 Speedo if it is compatible?
that would prob be the best way to know exact speed or a portable navi like garmin or something

Yeah, Steve does all of his high speed runs middle of the day on Monterey road. There is a spot where if you go up about 3-4 miles from Morgan hill and make a U-turn you will have approx 2-3 miles of not one cross street or stop light and a tall divider in the middle. I have been on one of those rides in the S3-R M3 too almost 190 and never even saw another car on the road.

Still nuckin futz like you said
Ok. I think I know where you are talking about. There have been some vids of Dinan on the net and what you described looks like Monterey Rd. 190 mph ?!? I thought the 170ish was crazy but 190 is definitely certifiable.

Exacty, this is the question to do : stock 545i died at 5500 rpm . My remapped 545i now pull pretty strong to redline .
I find that 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear pull strong to redline, but 4th gear begins to struggle at around 5500rpm. Shifting to 5th gear at this time yields much better acceleration.

Not as fast as Steve got Roleez car, but 170. Yes the car is still accelerating after 160, you can feel it.
I reset my avg MPH to figure out how fast I was going. With a few more mods and the light weight Dinan wheels this car should exceed 180mph.

At 155 the stock suspension is just fine, I cruised there for about 3 minutes. Anything after that I think you will need to upgrade the susp.
Last month or so, I went on a drive where I was able to hold 155 for lengthy periods. While at 155, other cars were pulling away into the distance and some cars literally flew by me like I was standing still.

At 155, the stock suspension is okay as I prefer to be going in a straight line at that speed, but once I hit some windy sections, the car was quite unstable due to the active steering. There are some posts where the e60 just doesn't bode well with strong side winds, but I think the active steering was really the culprit as it was really working against me. I did take some nice wide sweepers at 140ish and the car felt okay, but would definitely be aided by an upgraded suspension.

I think it'd be best to edit this post if you want Mr. Dinan to continue his high speed runs on that road.

Nope, no HUD in my car ... and I didn't see any sticker near the door jambs/hinges. Is there supposed to be a Dinan sticker on the plastic "OBD" door right above the trunk release switch?

Here is some pics
If you guys have software make sure that you get this sticker that way any body that puts new programs in your car will call Dinan before reflashing.
Dinan will mail this to your house. Call them at 408-779-8584.
