My Ride: 2007 BMW 550i w/SMG - JetBlack - Dinan Software - Dinan Exhaust - Anthracite Trim - Anthracite Headliner - Sport Package
I drove up to Morgan Hill on Wednesday, made sure that the top speed gov. was there
I got to Dinan at about 2:30 and met Roleez, he is a cool guy and his car looks awesome!
Left back to SD on Sat and verified that it was not there
I think the biggest improvement for my driving style is the increased redline, 1st and 2nd gear are perfect now where before I thought were a little too short.
Throttle response is great!

I enjoyed it a little too much Sat and got a ticket on Hwy 5.
He got me doing 92 in a 70 but wrote me up at 85. I was thinking well I am glad you didn't see me 10 minutes ago when I was trying out my new software feature @ *70mph

whoa.. that is crazy fast... at least he just gave it to you for 85 though.
i know dinan doesnt make anything for our cars yet.. i know theres powerchip and eurobahn available. i think ive only heard from one person with a 530 that has chipped his car already. one of the things that really concerned me was if the dealer wiped it out and then paying again to get the software downloaded again. well anyway, for the 530, vf engineering said that theyre gonna come out with a cai + giac software sometime soon.

Dinan puts a sticker on the door jam next to where the dealer would plug in the GT1 that says before doing and reprogramming call Dinan to verify the software version to put BACK in the car when the dealer is done

How fast did you get up to? Does the car accelerate once you hit the speedometer max of 160.
Oh, and does your 4th gear begin to die around 5000-5500RPM or does it pull strong to redline?

Hey JetBlack,
Looks like you're havin' TOO much fun! The romp down the old Monterey Hwy wasn't enough?! But what the hell, right? After all, these cars weren't meant to be grannied! And yes, it's quite a thrill to pass the 150 mph mark where the factory limiter once was! (Why a 150 mph top speed for US cars but 155 mph top speed all over Europe?) The V8 just PULLS linearly to 6750 rpm with no hint of torque "dropoff" making me wonder if this V8 has an almost flat torque curve (I've never seen a plot of hp vs. tq for this engine yet). But I'll never forget Steve Dinan telling me the day I picked up my car, "I personally made sure the limiter was removed ... at 175 mph." I doubt I'll ever get that high, but to pass the speed where the limiter once was (on a dark open road with no turnouts) is unbelievably thrilling!

Not as fast as Steve got Roleez car, but 170. Yes the car is still accelerating after 160, you can feel it.
I reset my avg MPH to figure out how fast I was going. With a few more mods and the light weight Dinan wheels this car should exceed 180mph.
At 155 the stock suspension is just fine, I cruised there for about 3 minutes. Anything after that I think you will need to upgrade the susp.
