New user question spoke 128 rims
#1
Hello I am a new member on this site. I have found a lot of useful information. I was wondering if someone could answer a few questions I have about a new set of rims I am thinking about buying.
I am looking to buy a set of spoke 128 rims
I was asked if I wanted
8x19 front
9.5x19 rear
or the same size on all four.
My question is which one would be better. I have a 525i so should I go with the same size all the way around, that way I can also rotate my tires when needed.
thanks for the help in advance.

I red this site for more than a year before I joined in...
If you want the looks for your car go for these!
The Styling 128 is quite a looker but only as a 19 incher...
If you want the same size tyres all the way, so that you can rotate them,
you need to go for 18" wheels and 245/40 18".
For comfort, go for 18" and without the RF tyres.

I have style 128 on my car:
This is the link to the information page with the spec for the rims:
http://www.e60.net/information/options/wheels/style128/
Unless you are getting replicas they are only available as 19inch rims.
The set up should be 245/35/19 on the front and 275/30/19 on the rear - I wouldn't do all 4 the same as it just wouldn't look as good. OK you can't rotate your tyres - but then you shouldn't need to. There's no technical problem with replacing one axle at a time.
The staggered sizes are designed specifically to improve handling and with 19inch rims you get the added advantage of proper tyres - not runflats - which also help.
The only downside is that if you do have a puncture these tyres are not on the shelves at the tyre fitters - they need to be ordered.

I would recommend this BMW dealer:

There you will find a complete set for EUR 1990:- + shipping!!

Salesafter has a pretty good deal on them, also in my opinion.
Also the M172's for € 2,399 is a intresting offer!
