Got my 20" miro 111's installed today at discount tire (20x8.5 / 20x9.5) with the tire sizes 245/35/20 and 275/30/20. Basically there is hardly any clearance between the tire and fender when I turn the wheel to the right or left extreme, and when I hit a bump or dip there is a loud rubbing noise. I just purchased the tire yesterday so theres still time to take them back and get them replaced with a different size. The other option is getting the fenders rolled, will this help with the rubbing when hitting dips and bumps? Any suggestions regarding different tire size or the fender roll or anything for that matter is appreciated thanks!
(2008 535i Sport pkg)

Will post pics after the rubbing issue is fixed.

So you're rubbing in the front? Strange that they rub at all with that setup. You could roll the fenders or do what I do and try to keep the wheels as straight as possible on ramps, dips, etc.

you have to roll fender if you go with those tire sizes. thats what i had to do when i had miro

do you have lowering spring installed? maybe that might cause to rub as well

what i did was roll fender in the front and back, got JIC magic coilover and removed my h&r spring

when you roll back, you wont have too much trouble with rubbing so no need for changing rear tire

if you want you can get 245/30/20 on fronts.. it will help with rubbing noise

I get an occasional rub on driveways and turns on the front passenger's since that side is lower than the drivers with H&R sport springs 245/35/20 tires . I just replaced my rears with 285/30/20 and now have a rub on the passenger rear. I'm planning on getting the inner fender lip or that double wall egde that cut off then sanded down by Vip status in Torrance. I believe they charged $30 per fender and its fairly quick according to my brother in law who had his M5 done there recently. if anyone else in socal knows a place that does this please feel free to offer suggestions. My Yoko sidewalls were shaved just from the trip home after installation!

I don't have lowering springs installed, just the sport package springs which are obviously lower than stock springs. It sounds like not only the front is rubbing but the rear also when hitting a big dip or bump. I may look into rolling the fenders and get some estimates tomorrow, would rolling fenders help the rear aswell?

I had loads of rubbing on the front with OEM M167's 19" alloys. I had the front arches rolled and the plastic lip cut off (small piece where the bumper meets the inner arch) and now the rubbing has gone.
You should be fine if you do that.

just got back from Vip status in Torrance. Gilbert the tech lightly hammered the double walled inner fender edge with a rubber mallet while supporting the other side with his hand until it was flattened. The plastic lip was then shaved off with a saw. No more rub and the process took only 10 mins for 2 fenders . $60 or $30 per fender. If you dont mind getting dirty , lifting the car on a jack and removing the lugs you can do it yourself. If you want it done fast without buying any tools let Gilbert do it.....

Sorry you have a rub. Most people are OK with 245/30 and many run 245/35 but offset and wheel width can effect this along with tire brand. Can you tell where it is rubbing? Do you know the offset of the wheels? I would line the fender liner and fender/bumper with blue painters tape and go for a drive. You will very quickly find out where it is rubbing when you look at the scuffed tape. It is hard to see where it is rubbing on the black liner. Once you know where it is rubbing, you can decide on a course of action. If it rubs the outer fender, you can roll the fenders. If it rubs the strut or inner fender liner, you can add a slim spacer. You mihgt also have some additional suspension play on the car if your lower control arm bushings are worn. Lastly, did you get an alignment?

Let me know once you try some blue painters tape.
