All Torquey5 can do is dream about drinking and going clubbing these days. He's still hungover from last night.

Fascinating post.

I would be curious about a couple of small questions.

1. How signficiant was the improvement in handling with the carbon fiber braces?

2. I talked to a dealer about some dinan mods and they said the 2006 550i specs are out, but they cant do anything to an '07 yet because Dinan hasnt "Approved" the mods for the 07's. I would have guessed than '06 and '07 550's would be virtually identical for dinan purposes. Anyone with an '07 that has any Dinan mods yet?

I'm sure the 06 DINAN mods will fit just fine on the 07s. Dinan isn't going to turn down a paying customer if you think about it. Simple bolt ons shouldn't be a problem, I guess you can call Dinan and ask them about it.

1. I would say the improvement was noticeable but not too significant. The front brace is identical to the factory bar and I even remember it felt the same weightwise. I did feel improved turn-in response after putting it on. I also felt the chasis was stiffer after the rear bar was installed. I used to have stuff in my trunk but they seemed to bounce around more with the stiffer chassis due to the rear bar so I took everything out.

2. I would send a PM to JetBlack. He used to work for Dinan and still has tight connections there.

Thanks Calton. Maybe you can use that to justify doing more stuff to you car.
Nah, I'm done with this car after the wheels. Once this lease is up, I'm going to look at used, low mileage M5's. After this pathetic winter we just had, I have no idea why I let my wife convince me we needed the AWD model. What a waste!

LOL! How wasted did you get little Danny boy???? How was crab night? How many lbs of crawfish did the 3 of you clowns go through (ECF, Torquey5 & VT...for those who are wondering what "3" I am referring to)? Did you beat our record of 9? Did you go Kitchen Sink style, extra spicy? LMAO! I can just picture it!

Holy bejesus! That's more than we had, except we killed 9lbs of crawfish. You guys are pigs! Hahaha! Sounds like fun. Sorry I missed it. I told Danny boy you guys should make that a weekly Wednesday dinner.
