Dave - I did not find anything out on the reason as to why the front wheels seem to be sticking out so much on my car and not so much on others.? I am wondering if anybody else on the forum also put 166's on their xi so they can post pictures to compare.? I really haven't been looking into it becuase I am ok with how it looks.? Guess that doesn't help you much ![Ermm](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/ermm.gif)

Thanks for the response. Don't get me wrong...I'm not ripping on how your car looks or anything; I think it looks sweet! My main concern is just from a physical standpoint. I did since find out that the Style 172 wheels are 6mm more inset that Style 166 on the front, and 4mm on the rear. That should be enough to alleviate my concerns.
I am curious, though: have you had any problem whatsoever with rubbing or anything, on the front or rear?
Thanks!

[/quote]Dave - No issues whatsoever with rubbing either in the front or rear. Hopefully, it won't happen in the future either. The style 172's are real nice too, if you are planning on going with them. I just liked the way the 166's looked over the 172's.

And yes, I did order the 172's, so I'll be anxious to see how they really look on the vehicle when it arrives.

but you could lower it a bit. do you use spacers already? The wheels seems to stick out too much.

You all should bare in mind that the car is a "x", a 4x4.
The hubs and all wheel settings are quite different compared to a normal rear wheel drive E60.
This is the reason why the M-wheels do come so much out.
The x is about 15 mm higher than the 2wd to start with.
At this point there is not a factory lowering kit available for the x's.
PS. I do not call it a xi because ther are also xd's on the market.
