I had OEM rotors and new ceramic posi quiet pads installed 3 weeks ago. When the brakes are cold they squeal like CRAZY. It literally wakes people up! However, when they are warmed up it goes away. I tried bedding them in again last night and same results this morning. Anyone with posi quiet ceramics have this problem?

 

Who did you buy the posi quiets from? Sometimes with dustless pads, because they use a harder compound, will be noisy when they're cold. That's why I recommend the Hawk HPS pads.

+1 for squeal when the rotors are cold...happens with my axxis pads as well....

 

i purchased these from a member e60.lab.rat awhile back. I'm going to pick those up from you if these don't quiet down after some use. I got posi quiet non ceramic pads installed on my gf x5 and they work great.

How's the dust on those hawk hps? I had axxis pads before and never had a problem with those. How do they compare?

 

You'll have some dust but not nearly bad as OE. I'd say it's comparable to Axxis pads. Maybe some people with them will chime in.

I'd re-moly coat them. I had posi quiets on several cars with no issues except with a Lexus. On that car i just removed the pads and re-coated them, no issues afterward.

 

that's strange.. i had axxis pads before and they never squealed before. the squeal for my current set up is bad.. REAL BAD! I'll try to make a recording tomorrow morning.

Looks like I'll be changing out my ceramic pads. Anyone want them? had them for less than 500 miles
