The only issue is that the e 60 can't have the 6 cd changer. The interface runs on the cd changer menus.

Surely this must only mean that the two cant be run at the same time? Or is someone suggesting that once the IPod interface is installed you cant use the CD Changer at all?

Anyone enlighten us??

Surely it does. As specified in the BMW Dealer bulletin the CD Changer must be removed.

With a decent discount about $275.00. You do the install. I hear it takes about 15 minutes provided theres no CD Changer installed.

I think anyone who pays for this is nuts.

The adapter costs as much as a new iPod itself.

Just get a MosterCable charger with line output. $40

Just a reminder:

As per the bulletin: The interface is compatible with 4th and 5th generation iPods, iPod Mini, and iPod Nano.
The interface is NOT compatible with the 3rd generation iPod or earlier and the iPod shuffle.

I installed mine last Thursday. It took me 1.5 hours but I was removing my glovebox without detailed instructions. I still have to go to my dealer to have my software updated to recognize the CD circuit.

I had no 6 cd changer just the pre wire. It was easier than my install of the cell phone eject box.

How much did dealer charge you for the coding?

Its scheduled for Saturday. Initially he quoted $110. But I recently bought my car so I had my salesman talk to the service mgr. and they said they would bring that price down. Im hoping for $50 but ill let you know.

This coding is different from a total software upgrade which is typically based on service need and covered under warranty.

The install of the hardware is relatively easy.

I have mine at the dealer right now getting the interface installed. I am wounding what the labor will be. Thet said four hours and I said no and pulled out the install direction that says 45 minutes. We'll see.

I couldn't believe you let dealer do the work w/o quoting you first.
If you have BMWCCA, dealer might honor it and give you 20% labor discount.
