New Ipod interface

My Ride: '04 530i Mystic Blue, European Delivery, Steptronic, Prem Pkg, Cold Weather Pkg, Nav, Heads Up, Active Cruise, Rear Sunshade, Rear Side Airbags, Rear Seat Heating, Park Distance Control, Xenon, CPT9000 GSM phone, red rear reflectors, Sirius!!!!
I have read all of the recent threads regarding an Ipod interface which is integrated with IDrive. I understand this will be available June/July '06. Where I am not clear is whether those e60s already equipped with SAT and/or CD-Changers can also add this. Some members have indicated you cannot add this interface in addition to SAT, while others have written that this couldn't be a limiting factor. Does anyone know for sure? Also is there a price set yet for it?

Haven't seen it yet.BMW said it won't work with CD Changer.
I have the CD changer and now I'm shut out

That answers your question of compatibility with SAT. It does not say anything regarding the 6 CD Changers. It is possible that the connection will have a toggle or bypass switch like the Dension set-up which allows both the CD changes and the iPod connection to work.

I understand it is not compatible with the CD changer. One or the other, since they both use the same idrive interface position. We'll need to remove the CD changer to install the ipod

Hmm...my dealer told me high chances of ipod interface without losing CD changer. He even offered an August installation date.
