Znod - using the same rollout and pitch settings as you and you are correct I have a 6-speed!
Also, I also just took the "extra" US filter out - per Lomag's DIY
The weather is supposed to be the same tomorrow, so I'll try again.....maybe there will be an improvement.
By the way, thanks for all the assistance via the previous threads
Truely, if not for you I don't think I would ever have done this. I just wish I had know about it when I had my E39 M5! I might see if I can get my Dad to do a couple of runs in his 05 S55
BTW, I am trying to reduce the weigth difference, but it's a bi@*h!
Cheers,

I am glad you are having fun. Be careful.

I am glad you are having fun. Be careful. Every little bit helps. Filter plus this, that, and the other, and you have something.

Well, went out and did 5 runs after lunch
55 degrees
35% humidity
Bright Sun
Concrete
East/West run - no wind
0-80 / 9.60 / - / - / 9.80 / - / -
0-70 / 7.67 / 7.92 / 7.92 / 7.87 / -
0-60 / 5.77 / 5.75 / 5.92 / 5.85 / 5.78
0-50 / 4.47 / 4.42 / 4.65 / 4.50 / 4.45
0-40 / 3.27 / 3.40 / 3.47 / 3.37 / 3.40
0-30 / 1.95 / 2.05 / 2.32 / 2.05 / 2.02
0-20 / 1.22 / 1.22 / 1.17 / 1.22 / 1.18
0-10 / 0.42 / 0.37 / 0.37 / 0.35 / 0.43
1/8 / 9.30 / 9.30 / 9.42 / 9.33 / -
300ft/ 6.08 / 6.05 / 6.17 / 6.10 / 6.07
60ft / 2.15 / 2.15 / 2.15 / 2.17 / 2.15
HP / --- / 339 / 306 / 308 / 345
Anyway, some satisfaction. Optimal launch seems to have the RPM in the 1,000 - 1500 range. Best 0-60 time seemed to have the most wheel spin. I might try again later today - perhaps the surface will "heat" some more....
What impact does the CDV have?

Glad to see you are underway with testing. It looks like your losing some time at the start(0-10)and also maybe on your shift to 2nd.I can't help you much with getting off the line as both I & Znod have steps.Try experimenting with different rpm launchs and with easing the gas peddle down.Don't get discouraged I know from many years drag racing experience it is much more difficult to get good starts with standard shift. What is your rpm's on the 1 to 2 shift? If your running into redline you may be losing some power.Try shifting at 6000 rpm to see if it does anything to your times. On the start you need to get your 60' times down to 2.00 or under.
Thanks again,

RPM was in the 1,000 - 1,500 range. Had not though about the RPM at the shift to 2nd. Will try to experiment today. Agree about the 60' time. With a rollout of 12', does this mean that you could get wheel spin and not move 12' and timing would not start? If so, I might be need to have a higher launch RPM and a little more wheel spin'
Experimenting with shift points is good. You can also calculate your optimal shift points. From the calculations I have made, I am betting that redline is optimal on a manual also. If you want to do some calculations, the check out Lawlor's Auto Math Handbook. I have posted a torque curve, on the thread mentioned below, with some important RPM data, for a Step, converted to ft. lbs. Still, it should help you; you can draw your own lines.

Edit: I misunderstood what you said initially. Right, as ECF confirms below, you could sit and spin with timing not starting, in principle until your reach the 12" point. But, excessively violent launches may give bad readings on g-meters, I think.
If wheel spin is your problem, then you probably don't want more. It is possible that your wheel spin is such that you would be better off with less or more--probably less for time reasons and others as well. I would try for the smallest amount possible, at this point, and see if your data improve. That's how I try to accelerate on the street in my Z06. Check out the Z06 posting that I made in my performance woes from 20.01.00 thread. You can then add wheel spin back.
I really don't think that drag-strip magnitude wheel spin on the street is a great idea for a number of reasons. But, grogan would have better insights on such matters than me.
I believe that is the case. According to the manual, the unit simulates conditions at a drag strip where the clock doesn't start until the front wheel rolls pass the sensor which triggers the clock.
Oh, and to clarify, it's 12 inches not 12 feet.

I'm sure we all knew we were talking about inches. I just didn't want someone to jump in mid-thread and assume something else.
