Ugh, I just noticed that I had forgotten to reset my GT2 from my Z06 settings. The effect probably was minimal on, at most, my more recent few runs, but darn. Oh, well, I still know what my car will do in anticipation of my CAI.

Bummer Znod, but looks like pitch setting diff would only have .02 to .04 diff in times(assume you using 1.5 for the Z06) on the 1/8 and 1/4 times.
Thanks for the explanation in your pm.
Still waiting for better weather before runing more tests.Looking forward to getting some data from EuroCarFan.

You are welcome. Yes, I think the difference, for 1.5 versus 1.9, would matter little. I might do a few more runs too--before Tuesday--but, then I might be just as likely to sleep late tomorrow and Sunday mornings. I am supposed to get CIP 20.x.x to enable MP3--hopefully--on Tuesday. I am hoping for some serendipity--an improvement in my Step's shifting ability--especially 1st to 2nd. Cross you fingers.

[/quote]Hi Guys:
I am discouraged with trying to go fast on cold days. I got up early both yesterday and today (32 degrees) just to come home discouraged because of excessive wheel spin. My best times always have to come from 50 to 60 degree mornings. And, my strip gets a tad busy, except for zero to 60's, after the days warm up. Maybe I'll just work on zero to sixties for a while knowing that good 60's will translate into good other things. I have no idea where I would find an alternative strip that is within reasonable driving distance. I have even started to doubt my decision on the CAI because I can't get traction anyway. I want 18 inch wheels and DR's, but I doubt it would be worth the pain of switching everything around at this point. Do you know of any really sticky 275 X 30-19's?
It's a shame that I can't get traction when my car should be the strongest. Incidentally, grogan, do you have an online read about the effects of altitude, humidity, etc., on drag results? Or, would you summarize what you know briefly? I have searched and can't find anything. Thanks much.

Hi Znod.
I know what you mean regarding traction and cold weather. This is why I thought that a higher M1 ratio would be better.M1 has such a low ratio that the torque multiplication just breaks the tires loose unless you have super sticky tires and perfect conditions. It appears even though you have wider tires than mine,You still need perfect conditions to get good traction.
You can go to "www.smokemup.com".This is a site dedicated to hard core drag racers. There is a catagory named"automath".There are many ways to calculate times & speeds based on weather conditions as well as ways to calculate horsepower. When I first found this site it was free, but now I see that they require a subscription in order to use the calculation functions($4.95 for 3 mo. I think). The only calc. I can still get free is Corrections for altitude. The NHRA publishes a chart based on effective altitude(formula base on temp, barometer etc).If you find a formula to give your effective altitude during your runs you can make corrections to time & speed.
I havn't found the need to subscribe at this point, but I think it would be very helpful to do so for one 3 Month period just to study and copy as much info as possible.I would have done this when I first found this site had I known the were going to charge to subscribe.
Can't help you on the tires.I also am looking for a better tire for traction.I really don't want to go to drag radials for everyday use(probably last about 3000 miles),and don't want to change just when I run tests.I am trying to keep my testing to "real world" conditions by not doing anything special for my runs.

Sorry guys. I've been swamped with work and family and haven't had a chance to do any runs. I'll make an effort this weekend because I plan on getting all my Dinan mods done next Wed.

Man, my brain is swimming after reading this post.....
BUT, I am looking forward to adding some data with a 6 speed
With respect to the weight, if I remember correctly, I think a saved a total of 50lbs with the SSR GT3's! However, I am 6'5" and 240lbs -
So, 4100lbs?
How would I go about finding a public scale?
