Hi members!

I noticed Racind Dynamics sells new cams for 545i .
But at crazy price (EUR 5000 just for the parts!) .

VAC motorsport already sell them, but they are a bit too extreme for a car like 545i/550i .

If RD sells something at 10x, usually you can find the same thing at 2x somewhere else .

Here the specs from RD site :

"It also removes the speed limiters and resets the engine speed limiter to 7400 RPM (from 6500), allowing motor to make full use of the new camshaft profiles. It is within this extended range that the Power System generates its maximum horsepower gains, "

My questions are :

a) would the engine lose power at lows ? Would the idle increase ?
b) does someone else sell them ( maybe at a human price) ?

Just for curiosity.. It seems a sporty mod

Bye!

Since it "also removes the speed limiters and resets the engine speed limiter" there is more to the package than just the camshafts themselves. I guess it makes sense that you would have to make the electronics work with the engine changes though.

I'm used to cam swaps on old American V8's where you would just adjust the timing and maybe change the jets in the carb. Hey, wait a minute -- the computers do that for you now!

Oh, for sure it would need a new remap .
But I was wondering on the result as torque/hp/allocation of new HP
