In short, here is my issue. I have a Magnaflow 14862 sitting in my garage new in the box waiting to be installed BUT... I'm scared! I don't want a ton of noise. So now, I'm debating just returning the damn thing and just staying with stock. I've listened to all the youtube's you can point me to. Each one sounds different depending on resonator deletes, crappy video cams, etc. All that did was confuse me more. I know of and have heard all the others...RPi, Remus, Super Sprint, etc Oh, with me sporting the weak of the weak 525xi...I could care less about HP loss. At 215 HP....what if I lost 5? Would I really notice???

I just don't want to spend a grand or anywhere over 500 on an exhaust. I want to be fairly conservative here... I have an I-6 so it really doesn't matter all that much. I'd rather put that money towards something else I need. Anyway, I don't like the stock tips, and wouldn't mind a minor increase in sound. I'm thinking right now that I might just return it and buy new tips and go g-h-e-t-t-o. Other obvious option is to install it and try it out. Seems like an expensive experiment...

What should I do? Thanks for chiming in. I really do need the help!

Losing 5HP? No, some bad setups lose up to 10-15%. Which is about 25 HP and that loss is very noticeable.
