The best just got better! Now you can experience exhilarating performance from the leading manufacturer of BMW exhaust systems with a Billy Boat direct replacement muffler for the 2004 BMW 545i.
.....The factory stock 545i features the powerful 4.4L V-8 and produces 325 HP and 330 lb-ft. of torque. Developing an exhaust system worthy of this outstanding automobile was a tall order. .....Featuring mandrel bent, T-304 stainless steel and precision hand-craftsmanship, the system for the 545i provides custom-tuned performance with a harmonious, subdued exhaust note and no interior resonance. The proprietary design of each Billy Boat Performance Exhaust provides increases in horsepower and torque throughout the entire RPM band.

.....Aesthetics were another important factor in the development and design of this muffler system. Simply providing performance gains and a balanced exhaust note were not enough to declare this the ultimate system for the expertly engineered BMW 545i. With a fully-polished muffler and twin 3.5? fully-polished double-wall tips the Billy Boat system delivers well beyond expectations.

.....Backed by a limited lifetime warranty, Billy Boat Performance Exhaust provides...."A Moment of Adrenaline and a Lifetime of Performance...."

Compared to other exhausts, tri-flow exhausts tend to be on the louder end of the spectrum. They do give a nice aggresive growl from the outside, but with other cars can also be heard on the inside. This might not bother some, but a low resonating drone on the highway could get annoying.

For my money, I'd get an eisenmaun exhaust. http://www.eisenhaus.com/main.php

That seems expensive. It's not even a cat-back system.

I thought exhausts for my Mini were expensive

brian1225,

If you can tolerate the increased exhaust note, $800 for 12 HP seems like a good deal.

However, I plan to wait for Dinan to offer their S1 package for my 545i. I'm a BORN-AGAIN-BELIEVER in purchasing aftermarket performance parts that have been tested as complete system.

From 1995-2002 I spent thousands of dollars buying performance parts separately for my late model 5.0 Mustang. Also, I never got the performance I was looking for.

I wouldn't expect much of a performance gain from any exhaust regardless of the brand. I would base my decision on sound, looks, quality and price. Exhaust on most BMWs are quite pricey, so go out and give the exhaust a listen to make your decision easier.
