Hey guys. OK so I am trying to decide whether or not I want to go 18" or 19" for my rim upgrade mod on my Black '07 525XI AWD. The feedback I am getting is that with going with 18's, I won't need to drop the car; with 19's though I will, due to high offset. And supposedly 20"'s will rub?? Can someone verify this? I really like the 18's and less $ and work is a plus.

For the 18's, I am looking at these rims(59617(18x8 front)/59619(18x8.5 back))... Would they fit? Offsets? Would I need spacers?

In 19", I am looking at the M6 style rims (19x8.5 front/19x9.5 rear). Would these fit? I know I need a drop. What are better, H&R with Blistens, or KW v3? Will I need low profile tires to fit? Spacers? Offsets?

Please help me out people!!!! Any feedback is appreciated....

Thanks. But does any one know about the 18 inch rims I asked about?

The 37mm offset will work for your xi. I have 18" with 35mm offset and they ride barely 1/4" wider than the original 18" wheels. Plenty of room to work fine. Certain 3 series wheels will work but you must remember to use the proper size tires for the e60. For mine they are 245/40x18.

For what it is worth, here is my feedback. Owned a 2006 530xi since October 05.

The 18 inch wheel looks like it will fit. One thing surprised me with that auction, it was only for 1 wheel. You could probably pick up 4 excellent replicas for much less. The other issue is that it looks like there are only two available.

To answer your question about the drop.....I would probably be much happier with it lowered but was never willing to blaze the trail with $3K worth of coilovers (appox. cost of KW v3 after parts and install). I think the car looks like it sits high on any of the wheel sizes. Obviously it is much more evident with the 19 inch Velocity Motoring VB-3's installed.

Good luck with the decision. There is a lot of good information on this board posted by C's Bimmer and others. They did an extensive amount of research that really helped me when it came time to select a wheel and tire combo.

I have 19" rims with 235/35/19, 35 or 38 offset. Barely fit just fine on OEM springs. No spacers. I won't go one bit more than that - anything more and I think it would rub.

Can you please post pics of your XI with the 19" OEM spring setup? Also... how does it ride?
