Thx for the fast replies guys!

I don't use winter tyres so I need tyres that also performe well in the wet because of the weather over here.
About the Pirelli's: I don't like the fact that they would only last 20k km's because that would mean i should changes my tyres 3 times a year!!
Any other suggestions?

It's true that the Pirelli's do not have the best durability. For me that is less important since i'm driving max 20000km p/year and also have a set of 17" wintertyres. If you are driving around 60000km p/year you migth also consider wintertyres since they already provide a much better grip with temperatures below 7 C. Also wintertyres perform better in wet conditions and thats unfortunately not unusual in our climate..
Good luck with yr decision.

For summer go with Bridgestones RE50 W nonrf. Probably the best summer tire out there.

For winter go with Continental 810S as I just did. Great winter super sport performance tire

Hi guys,

i know there are a lot of topics about it but i couldn't find a topic that answered my question.

The dealer called this afternoon and advised me to get new rear tyres, my car is in for service and it would take 2 days? .

My big question is what to do:

I've got the 18 inch 550 rims with the dunlops runflat (i have a spare tire!!!)
But i think the ride is a bit hard, i drive about 3 to 4 hours a day and want a little bit more comfort. What should i do? Stay with rf's from another brand or should i go for non rf's? I like it when they have i little bit of durability, don't want to change them every 20k km's

What brand and type would you guys recommend me?

btw if i would go for non rf's should i change the rf's in front also (their are still pretty good)

Hi Ralph,
Non-run flats will increase your perfomance and better comfort at the same time as they will be smoother.

I woudl recommend you for summer the best is still CONTINENTAL
SportContact 2 or
try new one for less the Hankook, but besides Formula1 Bridgestones are also perfect, Sp03 etc.

For winter I will test (buy) Hankook but before I had Michelein PS2 for winter.

Hi Peter530i,

Did you go for the 18" wheels?

I'm still wondering about what non RF tyres to buy next summer...

Potenza RE050 or Conti SportContact2 or Michelin Pilot Sport PS2?????

So you like your Potenzas?

Do some research on www.tirerack.com...they have a wealth of information for you although I doubt it would work to order from them since they are in the states.
