My BMW Service Center told me to be sure that I got ceramic tint because metalic tint interferes with the radio reception. They knew this was the case because they had resolved several complaints about radio reception by changing metalic tint to ceramic.

I am hesitating to tint mine because all of my partners (I am a lawyer) say it looks low class. I, on the hand, the pimp daddy of my office, may be low class enough to get it anyway!!!!

Nice wheels poleposition. I like the grey w/ black rims look. That's some dark tint but i guess you eventually get used to driving at night.
I have 35% all around, except the front windshield.? I used Madico Charcool tint which also has a lifetime warranty.? The tint shop put a specific type of Madico non-metallized tint on my car cause I have Navigation.

It's funny that my brother, who also owns a MB, also thinks tint will cheapen my car.? I'm happy with it.? Here's a pic:

Perhaps most MB owners feel the same about the "cheap" thing with tinting. I guess most MB owners have garaged parkings, so they don't mind the sun.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to do some research with the information you provided, including the sunglasses thing. I wear eye glasses and the only thing available are those "clip ons." It's OK if I look like an old fart.

i just recently applied v-kool to my e60:- http://www.v-kool-usa.com/

based on local regulations: 70% visible light in front & 50% behind.
IR rejection is fantastic

i find myself not having to set the A/C all that low anymore.

I put 35% on the sides and 20% rear. It is cop friendly and not too dark at night. When you have a darker tint % on the rear window, it will automatically darken the side windows. If you have the the same dark % on the sides, it becomes really dark inside the car and almost impossible to see at night.

I put on Llumar and IMO it is one the best films you can purchase. http://www.llumar.com/na-eng/Automotive/auto.html
Thank you for the nice compliment--to the car. I wish I was a good enough photographer to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. ~{;^)
