You are, not on the specs but the displacement is the same, the only difference is the 530 is a HO version of the same engine
okay, thanks for the correction
but im still pretty sure a tune will not bring the 525 to the 530 mark

Arghhhhhhh, if I hear that one more time, I'm going to start dancing with old ladies....... I have driven both the 530s and 525s (06 on) and I cannot detect any discernible difference. What the hell am I doing wrong? I am naturally heavy-footed and my 525 is a freaking rocket. Could it be that the previous owner had it chipped and I don't know about it?

I am willing to take anybody who doesn't believe me on a ride. Just let me know.
I feel you dude I got my May 2008 built 525i Sport (AT) placed against my friends 2008 530i (AT)

Well I can tell you that the difference all depends on the driver how heavy are you on the pedal

He won me a couple of times I won him by a couple of times the cars raced neck to neck with 1-2 meters win difference

I have chosen my 525i Sport Limited Edition because it had the M-Tech bumpers, rims, ///M steering and two colored (black, grey) leather like an Individual BMW

I agree, compared to the 535, the 525 is slow. Compared to the 535, the 530 is also slow, for that matter. I'm just saying that the 525 and 530 are not ALL that much different.
+1 just as I have written above

Edit: spelling mistakes

So what does the "HO version of the engine" mean exactly?

HO=A lovely woman of the night selling her wares.

Seriously, HO=high output (more power).

To sum up this thread, just drive your car like it was meant to be and enjoy it. It's not a 530i nor can you make it one or any higher model. If you really can't stand the lack in power, trade in for a 545i or 550i.
