Is there anyone who I can post my new Mulf unit to and have it decoded, in the UK?

Is there a reason why you wouldn’t get some type of aftermarket MMI box? You have a screen in your car already and it isn’t too difficult, and certainly is cheaper, to have a CarPlay or Android box installed. I have tried a few of them and really like the Mr12Volt system. Joyeauto, Avin, Bimmer-Tech, and others all make systems. I upgraded to CIC and it was a lot of work and I never use it for navigation as the CarPlay from my phone is far superior.

I'm new to this game what is a MMI box and how easy would it be for me to fit to my car?

It’s a box that connects between the radio/DVD drive and the screen. It adds things like screen mirroring with your phone and CarPlay. Then you can keep your existing hardware and add new features. Mine was basically plug and play, just needed to remove a few trim pieces from the dashboard as well as the screen and radio/DVD unit.

I have this one, but for CIC.

I used to have this when I had M-ASK (the small screen, no navigation BMW option). This one actually is an Android tablet that replaces your OEM display.

I haven’t used this but I think it’s similar to the first option https://www.bimmer-tech.net/category...y-mmi-retrofit

Many thanks for that food for thought. Is there any simple way of just linking my google maps on my phone to my existing system without too many hardware changes?
