I am looking into the idea of installation of the Navi Pro in my car (please don't scream at me - but I have to admit it, I won't use the NAVI so much as I finally came into conclusion that in my case it is the only chance to get a decent mp3 playback possilibility... and I am tired of mp3 players lying around and connected via AUX-in)

I am considering following two options:
- full installation at the dealers incl. all parts
- installation with my own CCC + 8,8" screen.

My car is 06/2006 build and has only the basic CD radio (and therefore no mp3 playback, and I guess no NAVI wiring or GPS antenna, am I right?)

However, nobody wants to tell me the ACTUAL costs of the installation and programming.
I already called two dealers, one in Luxembourg (the closest one), and the other one in Trier - Germany (next closest one). But they generally either hesitate to give me the definite answer or directly advise me against doing such installation...

So, I need a little help (and advice):
- can anyone tell me how much the other necessary parts will cost (or how to find such price-list?)
- how much will the dealer charge for such installation + car programming.
(perhaps somebody did it in Germany, France or BeNeLux?)
- how long does it take?

BIG BIG thanks in advance!!!

I think if you do it yourself the costs would be around 2000 euro
If you look on ebay there are a lot of navi professional retrofit kits to buy
If you let the dealer do the installation it would be a 4000 euro i think

Good luck

Exactly 4000 ? is a little bit much just for the mp3 playback you want. Why don't you just buy a decent apple ipod with the wires hidden in the dashboard and just one console 'into the legroom of the passenger'?
Then you can use your ipod also for walking,... (you can't take a gps with you while walking or cycling )
