Honestly, I wouldn't turbo an engine that isn't really race oriented...the engine in the E46 M3 (S54 I think?) is race oriented and can deal with a turbo a bit better...

Is your price taking into account a limited slip diff?

My thoughts exactly. There are so many components that go into making a 500hp car reliable and just slapping on a turbo or supercharger without upgrading other components will almost certainly put you on the path of breaking something.

No way, its all in the tune. I would say 8 psi max, 6 psi to be safe. There are atleast a handful boosted e39 540i's running around on 6-8psi with no issue and I beleive their compression ratio is the same if not a tad lower. Still not sure Id do it though lol...

why do you want more power... you cant drive fast anyways.... stop dumping so much money into the car... let it be the way it is.

Every engine you can think of has been boosted in one way or another by someone; nitrous, turbo, or supercharger. Its all in the tune. The e46 m3 has no better features for boost than an n62, i think it even has higher compression. My point is ANYTHING can run forced induction. Now if its practical or not......thats a different story
