That was a funny post. I actually told her about that one. No need to fib with her. She knows if I want to do something A) nothing she says is likely to stop me I have thought it through and am not doing anything rash C) Our family always comes first and will be taken care of (not wasting large portions of our cash).

I can't complain. She doesn't understand the car thing at all, but I don't understand her need to collect little ceramic birds so we're even.
Well, my wife loves jewelry from ShopNBC.com so even with the 550i's monthly payments, I still think that she's ahead.

Lucky you that you don't have to tell her it was the pulleys. I am sure that I would have to at my house.

I'm way ahead. She spends $100 I spend $1000. I'm always ahead by at least one "0".

What she misses in amount (quality) she makes up for in volume. BOGO (buy one get one) is her favorite phrase (shoes) and she is addicted to the dollar store. If one more pool floatie shows up this summer I think I might have to kill myself (air compressor is my friend).

Well, if only I could find a way to block ShopNBC.com....I might be able to afford the M5!! All the jewelry on that site is a fortune. But it does make my wife happy and if she's happy, I'm happy (although pining for the M5!).

Pointerman, I was very happy with the results on your car. I will try to dump the video down tonight and get it up on youtube. I'll post the link on this thread. Did your wife really think your car sounded broken?!?!

Her exact comments were "If you handed me the keys to a brand new car that sounded like this I would think it was broken". She later commented "Why would anyone spend money to make their car louder?"

She doesn't get it, but she also doesn't car what I do. Trying to make her understand is like beating your head against the wall.

Back to discussing mods...

Wheels arrive tomorrow. New shoes by Saturday.

Oh, and the best part is that my 6 year old son thinks we own a race car now. He is grabbing everyone we know and dragging them over to the car and asking me to do that loud thing with the car. It's a tad embarassing, but I am happy that he is excited about the car.
It's funny how boys can appreciate these kind of things and girls just thinks its loud or as one members wife puts it, broken.
