I assumed the light would switch over to indicate it is in recirculate mode but have never seen it happen.

Can some one confirm for me that the manual mode still works with AUC sensor disconnected?

Its a small sensor, top left of the fan cowl in the engine bay.

I checked it out. With the sensor disconnected, the switch still indicated all the proper modes and no warning messages in iDrive. Looks like you are good to go without the sensor as far as I can tell. If it turns out you need the sensor attached for some reason, I suppose it doesn't actually have to be placed in the correct location. Leave it in the dash somewhere should do it.

Climate panel arrived this morning and it`s from a US car, it has Fahrenheit on the dials. Should still be able to use it , it was the cheapest one I could find on ebay.

why didn't you buy the LCI one? I've seen those go for as low as £70 on ebay. They seem a bit better in that you don't need the idrive for most of the setting, all of them are on the panel itself? Plus you already have the LCI CCC anyway.

Never thought of that bruce, also I tried a LCI basic one when I did my LCI CCC and I couldn't get it to work, kept giving errors.
