He did say he is painting them, perhaps an exact match of color was not available and he went with what was a) affordable and b) available. Even if the parts were the same color there would be no guarantee of an exact paint match, too much factors into how paint fades over time.

Maybe that's just primer, not the actual paint.

Ha just to clear the paint thing up. Basically I had found a donor vehicle which was originally white and the parts were offered at a price which I could not resist so I bought them and as pjinca said it wouldn't be possible to get an exact colour match so the best way to achieve the best possible finish is to repaint the new panels. Thankfully paint fade is not a major issue in Ireland where I say it would be in the states so a mismatch in colour(color lol) should not be a problem The main reason they are different colour is becasue I used scrap(junk) yards to source my parts as there is a yard which is near where I live which specilised in BMW parts so they were my first port of call. The bumper came from a silver M sport where as the bonnet(hood) came from a white SE model but the fitment is the same.

Going to the dealer for the body panels would have cost a fortune and the specialists breakers had no shortage of E60's at good prices

Thanks

Got out of the car without a scratch on me as I wasn't travelling that fast just a shame the road was flooded and there was a tree there . But the car is 80% finished so all is well

Then mod time

Have to say you guys in the states now how to mod a car the scene is much smaller in the UK/Ireland for modifications as its usually the usal such as wheels, lowering and soundsystems but you guys take it to a whole new level

LOL, yeah, especially here in Southern California ( the epicenter of car culture), if you just get tints and wheels you haven't even started modding.

almost finished just waiting on the airbag to arrive although it has been a week since it was ordered I am now starting to believe it will not show up.

Apologies about the dirt of the car just got dirty due to fitting the panels and I am not detailing and polishing it until everything is ready

No apologies necessary, the car look great, you've done a fantastic job!! Good luck with the air bags and the cleanup.
