Wow. ~$12k. How much was the BMW platinum warranty? ~$4k? Anyhow, you should go hug the SA that convinced/sold you the warranty. LOL

 

Yea it was about $4000 but at this point it was worth it since they paid about 3x what I paid for the extended warranty!!

 

wow! man, you are F'ing scaring me! My 2008 550's warranty ends next week. I've been contemplating getting the warranty, but can't make up my mind. My car currently has 47,500 miles, and over the next 3 years I will be driving it less often and only put on maybe 20k more miles. I haven't had an issue with the AC, but have been to the dealer 3-4 times because of a slightly rough idle and the occasional transmission hesitation. I've just always been brushed off being told it's normal for a high performance car and that the transmission is just adapting to driving style. Sounds like BS to me, but I took it to an indy yesterday for an inspection and was told everything looks good...no leaks or codes, etc.

 

Get the warranty man... it's rediculous the cost for repair if anything messes up.

Sad to say but, it seems this BMW isn't as reliable as my Chevy. My Tahoe has 130k miles on the clock. The a/c cools faster and is cooler and still on the OEM transmission.
