Default Mr12Volt P2000 CCC

Hello Gents,

Just bought this MMI device which uses the CD exchanger input on my Hifi radio set of my E61 2005 CCC car. My car didn't have the cd exchanger but I enabled it using NCS expert
https://www.carinterface.nl/index.ph...product_id=723

This MMI uses the original 8.8" screen but I'd like to know whether or not it's also possilbe to seperatly upgrade the screen itself to a higher resolution screen and will it still work with the MMI?
I guess its depending on the video chip in the MMI and whether or not it supports the higher resolution. Not sure......
Can anyone elaborate on the above?

This guy on m3post seems to have found a higher-resolution screen he's all excited about. He says he doesn't have a link to it though.

Are you finding the lower resolution CCC screen is actually a problem? I believe @Anthro installed a Joyeauto mmi box on his CCC setup and was quite happy with it for CarPlay even at the current resolution. I did a CIC retrofit only because I found one for a great price locally but otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. So I am running that higher resolution.

Yeah..thats exactly the question. I don't really care about a higher res. The Mr12Volt provides beasically all the functionality you currently want and with a very good sound quality so why bother about the screen res.
Just wanted to know whether the MMI can ciope with it.

update: Added the latest Mr12Volt P2000-MD to my CCC 2006. Quite hazzle to get the f******ing cable sorted. Absolutley no room...but he upgrade is worth it. Sound quality is really good as it uses the CD exchanger fibre optic (most) input in the hifi unit. You do need to code it if its not enabled already. used NCS expert to code in CDC. I also removed #694 (cd preparation) and added #672 (CDC) to the verhicle order. Don't know if it was really needed as everything appeared to be working first time trying. Android auto using bluetooth and wifi works perfectly. You can also connect it using a cable.
All in all quite a nice upgrade for my sweet 16 year old....

Will the mr12volt system work with the MASK system with aux, and if yes can I swap the smaller screen with a bigger one?

You're asking 2 different question yes Mr12Volt will work and no you can't swap the CID to an 8.8". Need to change the iDrive for a bigger screen to work properly and in that case you might as well upgrade to a CIC because the CCC sucks and then use Mr12Volt

So what would be the most cost effective option with audio quality if I currently have the smaller MASK screen and want android auto with the big screen.

If you want both audio quality and the big screen there is no cost effective way. The reason why is because to achieve this you would need to update to CIC and then install Mr12Volt.

The only way to make the upgrade cost effective is to sacrifice audio or the big screen. Either keep what you have and either install Mr12Volt (keep audio quality and sacrifice big screen) or upgrade to an android CID (big screen sacrifice audio due to using AUX for audio).

Is the aux audio really that bad.

In my experience it's definitely worse than CD and FM radio quality but it seems like it just isn't loud enough, but quality is still ok.

There was a video on YouTube stating there are resistors on the PCB for the aux connector which limit volume and bass, potentially even sound quality.

I have an android unit in my vehicle and it's ok. Definitely not as good as use to be but not that bad that I'm looking for another solution.
