I noticed MP_CDC in javens Champ but there is no MP3 cd-changer for the E60.

This is interesting, my 545i was built in 2003 as well. is it as easy as burning a CD with MP3's, turning the car on and popping the CD in?
A few questions...

1-Does the directory structure for the mp3 files have to be in a special format?

2-Do I have to update the iDrive software?

3-Any particular MP3 data rate I have to adhere to?

Thanks!!!

Thanks for answers, so yesterday I burnt a whole bunch of MP3's to a CD, through it in the car single CD player after I had started the car and no go, it was unable to recognize the format.

Oh well, it was worth the effort

So what is the exact step by step to enable mp3 playback? I believe my car is a 03/04 build...I could be wrong, my car is parked too far away to check now. I've have logic 7, no nav. and 6 cd changer. I've tried an mp3 cd before in the main CD slot and it couldn't read it.
