But we are talking about the Nav DVD player? not the CD changer

 

He said " Single CD player " which is above the DVD ,, CD Changer will never ever plays MP3 ..

 

Just to clarify it don`t matter what config you have be t, champ, M-ask or CCC they can all do MP3 playback.

Champ is the single cd no nav system.
M-ask is the single dvd business nav system.
CCC is the single cd, single dvd pro nav system.

The cd-changer as never been able to play mp3`s.

 

I had my dealership update my idrive and enable mp3 for me and I have a 11/04 build with no nav and it didn't work. According to the TSB 2004 builds and older with no nav can't have mp3 capabilities enabled.

 

Yeah weird, I actually tried to enable MP3 on a 2004 over the weekend as well and was unsuccessful.

 

So are we saying that this is hit and miss, or do we know for sure which cars it will and which cars it won't work on?

 

MP3_full will not work, I set it to aktiv and it works but the only when the disc is inserted after the champ or M-ask starts up, If the champ or M-ask starts up with the disc in the drive it fails to read it.

 

90% of the times it will play if the disc is already in the cd player when you start the car.

If it does not you just eject the cd and put it back in.

My car is a Sept 2003 built

we all have blood to thank for this great find

 

Just to add
if you input a cd after the car has started it will work 100%


Full text of the song name is also listed on the idrive

so just take out the cd when you switch off the car


If you forget just eject and re insert it after you start the car

I vaguely remember his entry for mp3 was MP3_CDC -> nicht_aktiv. Is that the correct entry for a 2004?
