Just got a 06 530xi and I want some mods done. I can't find any software for the car any place. Any suggestions on a cold air intake and exhaust. Dont want to change the lines on the car much because I love it. I do plan on putting some 20" rims on it yet I can't find anyone that even says 20s will fit on the car. I am lost help me out a little.

start perusing the forum you posted in. use the search function as well. there is so much information that a single person can not answer in a reply. as far as wheels ill give you a hint, search for "xi wheel fitment" should have MANY options for wheels.

20s will indeed fit, typical dimensions of 20s on the e60 would be 20x9 and 20x10. for an intake, the best setup would be the RPI ram air scoop which can be paired with a BMC filter. any open cone intakes have caused a loss in power due to heat soak. as for exhaust, we can also do the RPI exhaust which is in stock. if there is anything I can help with feel free to email me at nerwyll@trinityautosport.com

You'll find suggestions to mod your car and spend money faster than any 10 politicians can. I suggest you first be absolutely certain that any and all mechanical and electronic systems already on your car work 100%. Then realistically think and plan what disposable cash you have to spend on your new car - bearing in mind that even a well cared for BMW will break. And repairs, even basic ones, can be very very expensive.

Then I'd prioritize what mods you are going to go for ... appearance, or performance, or handling ... etc. Some can be easy and inexpensive (lighting mods for example). Others can be involved and require help from an experienced BMW mechanic (exhaust or intake mods) ... some might be moderately expensive and require some homework to get it "right" (wheels and tires - esp for an xi) ... and so on.

That said, welcome and let the fun begin!

Thanks for all of the input. I'm definately doing my homework on this one. The car is a CPO so I don't want to void what's left on the warranty either. I am definitely leaning towards the the rpi setup for exhaust and intake. Is there a discountwe get as members of this forum or is there a group discount I can get in on anyone??

Trinity had a RPI sale going on. Check with Joe or Nerwell to see if it's still in effect.
