Starting this thread, I should have specified more that I can only really answer questions about go fast goodies. Im sure Trinity or Eurorev can pitch in here about the wheels and body kit stuff.

The sprint booster alters the throttle signal so you have a more "responsive" throttle...or less lag. Although it doesnt actually make power, it does make your car "feel" faster with the more sensitive throttle response.

PS: this was meant as a half hearted Joke... I was kinda just throwing them out there as the stuff that we all see asked to infinity.
like beating a dead horse...

I really wanted to start this thread because some of the topics have just gotten way out of hand. I wanted to explain to poeople how certain products work so they can decide for themselves what the best choice/option is. Seems like a lot of people just tell others that "this thing works" but they cant explain how and why.

No I agree , I think it is very needed, 75% of the questions can/could be answered with a search click or a FAQ at the top of the page for mods and Parts ....

The potential problem I see is how do we know the answer's right? Who's responsible to validate the info?
+1.... this can cause problems.. different members or experienced technicians or whatever you want to call it can get into debates over things.. i see a multitude of problems that can arrise from this thread. although essentially it can be very helpful at the same time.. maybe we can keep it simple. basic facts providing links.?? idk although the title of the thread itself would have to be such a name that when people do actually search for this thread, they can find it- does that make sense to anyone?

maybe no chiming in; +1's, etc.. unless you can state that you have experienced the same, etc.. i dont know.. after that 12 or 14 page fear thread i think i still have a headache..lol.. anyone want a drink with me?

It's called Mexico runs.
Dyno numbers are one thing, but how your car performs on the street (real life conditions) versus the competition is what you pay for.

That's why I can't wait for M Fest IV titled "Proving Grounds".

Ok Eloy, you want to explain go fast mods, explain this one:

One question that might be useful to members is a detailed explanation of how exactly an ECU remap can produce more power.

Not many members who I have met have an ECU remap, especially members who don't have M5s. And a number of members that I've met, beside the serious modders, don't really understand how an ECU remap works.

From Wikipedia on Chip/ECU tuning: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chip_tuning

From Singh Autosport Blog on dynos: http://singhautosport.blogspot.com/2008/10...nformation.html

Just to let you know Singh is the only company who knows how to tune the new X5M and X6M.
