Which Mod for 545i

Sound is subjective. I think both sounds great and the Remus is definitely a bargain. It's my just opinion that if you can, stick to one tuner since their performance parts will be more cohesive with each other.
Exhaust will most likely be next mod.

My Ride: 2005 BMW 545i, Billy Boat w/ y-resonator removed.
Sound-wise, I think the Dinan and Remus sound pretty close to each other. The Dinan is all stainless, I dont think the Remus is if I remember correctly. The Billy Boat is all stainless and the muffler and tips are all polished (rather then just the tips). The Billy Boat is deeper sounding then the Dinan and Remus. I had a Remus on order for about 8 weeks and gave up after the second delay in getting it out of Austria onto the long slow boat ride across the pond and then awaiting customs approval - BEFORE - it would get shipped to me by BavAuto. Dinan and Billy Boat won't suffer you these delays.
On a 545, there are two 2" runs from the front. Each then has a long tube resonator and then just under the rear seat there is a y-pipe / collector / resonator. The two 2" pipes go in and a single 3" comes out. From there, the 3" pipe leads to the stock mufflers. Stock, it has a two muffler unit with a vaccuum control to open up the second muffler. The aftermarket mufflers replace this unit with a single muffler that is patched into the 3" pipe section. The vaccuum line is pinched off. Fit-wise, I think the Billy Boat is better then the Remus. The one Remus I saw needed to have a stock hanger relocated to the muffler, the Billy Boat had all hangers in place ready to go.
Looking at the 3" pipe back to the mufflers, the only place your going to pick up HP is in the mufflers themselves. The stock pipe bends all look good. The 2" pipes and y-resontator are another story. The 2" pipes are pinched for clearence of a cross member just ahead of the rear seat then then again at the inlet to the resonator (severely). The outlet pipe is also pinched coming out of the resonator. Due to this and the desire for a louder, raspier sound I replaced some of the 2" pipe and y-resonator with new straight tubes when I installed the Billy Boat. It does make it louder then a stock aftermarket install though for sure. When I talked to Billy Boat they couldn't confirm that any horsepower would be opened up by replacing the resonator from thier dyno testing they had on file, but basic hot rodding told me get rid of the pinched tubes.

All REMUS exhaust systems are 304 stainless steel inside and out. In addition, the PowerSound and Sports Label all feature 441SS and chrome plated polished tips. 441SS is more resistant to corosion and rust compared to 304SS.
I have an appointment to get the S package done on my 545i, on Monday morning at the Morgan Hill facility.
I'd be glad to provide feedback afterward to aid you in your decision.

Thanks for all your info. That is sad to hear about the REMUS taking so long to get.
