Opinions wanted. I did the RPi scoop,K&N filter, removed the charcol filter already. I am considering another mod. I was considering DINAN. Which of the following:
1.Dinan Software
2.Dinan CAI
3.Dinan exhaust
4.Remus Exhaust no Dinan

I am happy with the looks of the car and dont want to change it at this time.
I considered the Sprintbooster but really have no issues as I just shift into Sport for better response.

Thoughts are welcome.

I would do Dinan CAI first and while your getting the CAI get the throttle body too. Exhaust then Dinan remap.

Thanks, so you think the CAI will make that much of a difference even after I did the K&N and charcol removal? Correct me if I am wrong, bu I thought when I did a CAI on my e39 they did a software upgrade, does that not need to be done here?

Thanks

Very good thread!

I just completed a B&B exhaust and y-resonator removal and was getting ready to ask the same about other mods - not to hijack, but...

Would you suggest the CAI and TB at same time without the software upgrade?

Any problems with running the CAI, TB, and exhuast all at same time without a reflash? Does the Dinan software upgrade include larger injectors?

Any good options outside of the Dinan CAI?

Are there pulleys for 545's?

Supposedly, the software is suggested to optimize the gain of the CAI as well as the Throttle Body. You can probably get those other mods without the software upgrade but I would suggest doing it also since you get the benefit of faster throttle response, increased rev limiter and speed limiter removal. I used to have all the Dinan performance mods on my 545 and loved it (CAI, TB, Exhaust, Software). And no, the software upgrade does not include larger injectors.

I believe AFE makes an "open" intake for the 545 but if you do a search on this forum, you'll find threads discussing how the AFE intake supposedly lost power. What you could do is get the Dinan CAI and add the RPI ram air scoops (RacePrecision.com) to increase the pressurization of the air box. RPI tested their scoops when installed with a Dinan CAI on an M5 and showed additional power gains; I think somewhere over 10rwhp. It'll probably have the same result on a 545.

No pulleys for the 545 that I'm aware of.

3) Dinan CAI

Excellent choice using the Dinan stuff, it really is the only aftermarket parts that match OEM quality, fitment etc. IMO

I would do the exhaust first because the sound is fantastic. Completely changes the car. I did exhaust and software together. CAI and throttle body hopefully coming in the spring...

Do you think the Dinan exhaust is worth the extra $$ over the remus? I heard all Dinan does is modify the stock Muffler. Thoughts anyone heard both of them?

They don't modify the stock muffler. It's a completely whole unit. They have 4 welders in house and each unit should have a little signature engraved somewhere on the muffler. That's what I recalled when I took a tour of their facility in Morgan Hill a couple years back.

Sound is subjective. I think both sounds great and the Remus is definitely a bargain. It's my just opinion that if you can, stick to one tuner since their performance parts will be more cohesive with each other.
