Good call.
I'm also waiting for Dinan's claims but will have no problems going to Upsolute if Dinan's price doesn't reasonably match the product.
I read an interesting article on ECU tuning in the new issue Luxury Exotics last night. You might want to check the article out or, alternatively, go to www.eurotekdesigns.com. Most, if not all, of the good info in the article is on this site. Unfortunately, Eurotek apparently does not work on BMWs and one would have to take his/her car to their shop anyway--as I read things. The main point of interest to me has to do with making ECU-tuning invisible.

I'm assuming you mean invisible to the dealership. This is what I would hope too.

I would agree with you to go with Dinan. Have the dealer install the chip, you're under warantee, and no worries about invisibility! That's what I'd do. I'll guess the Dinan chip will be around $2000 including install, and should give you a real 20HP or so. $100/HP is a good deal for a BMW.
Right, and I hope that $2,000 would include transmission programming.

Didn't read the whole thread, but have you considered sport seats? May not go with the whole look of the car, but they should provide a decent weight savings along with providing increased comfort and support.

Also a complete "cat-back" exhaust should provide a nice weight savings

Thanks. Yes, I've done a B&B, light wheels/tires, and removed spare/jack (replaced with BMW mobility kit for in town).

Bump idy do dah.
Bump idy ay.
My oh my what a wonderful day.

I bumped because I added some new info to my original post. Is my off-the-wallness showing? I'm not nuts. I just have many very silly moments. And, anyway, I want this thread to achieve the stature of the mud-flap thread. ~{;^). Bump idy do dah. ....
